Charlie Morton leaves Game 1 with ankle injury (UPDATED)

Charlie Morton left Game 1 of the World Series with one out in the third inning with an apparent lower body injury. Morton appeared to land funny after throwing a curveball that struck out Jose Altuve to begin the inning.

Morton walked off the field under his own power and was replaced by A.J. Minter.

UPDATE: Morton was struck in the ankle area with a ground ball off the bat of Yuli Gurriel in the second inning. Per The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, he came back out in the third but the area swelled up and he was unable to continue.
