CACHE, Okla. (KSWO) - “Super excited and kind of shocked that they picked me and it’s just a huge honor to be able to show off and represent myself, my tribe, my family,” said Leland Kowena, a member of the Comanche Nation and pitcher for the Cache Bulldogs. “They only chose 50 Native Americans, so I’m super hyped that I’m, I’m one of them.”
Baseball has been a massive part of Kowena’s life and he was a big part of the Cache’s success, including winning the Bo Bowman Tournament this year, helping guide them to an 18-15 record this season!
