Bristol native Hunter Stratton recalled to Braves bullpen ahead Mets series

ATLANTA, Ga. (WJHL) — The Atlanta Braves made a roster move Sunday that hits close to home in Northeast Tennessee.

Bristol native and Sullivan East graduate Hunter Stratton has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett ahead of the Braves’ series finale against the New York Mets. The veteran right-hander returns to Atlanta’s bullpen after left-hander Aaron Bummer was placed on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation.

Stratton has appeared in six games for the Braves this season, allowing seven earned runs across 8.2 innings. He is expected to fill a low-leverage relief role, but provides another option in the middle innings.
