Spring training has been a bit of a mixed bag for new Braves starter R.A. Dickey but despite his struggles, he thinks he is close to ready for the regular season.
Dickey allowed eight hits and six runs (five earned) over 4 1⁄3 innings in an 8-6 loss to the Tigers on Wednesday. He has made three spring appearances so far and has allowed 15 hits and 13 runs in 9 1⁄3 innings. The defense behind Dickey has been shaky as only eight of those 13 runs have been earned.
