Braves sign Lucas Duda to minor league deal

The Braves have signed veteran first baseman Lucas Duda to a minor league contract, according to Jon Heyman. He will reportedly report to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Duda, 33, was acquired by the Braves last August as well and would serve as a primary left-handed hitting option in September. He even made the NLDS roster. He hit well in Atlanta to the tune of .222/.364/.500 although it was over just 22 plate appearances.

Duda was genuinely terrible with the Royals this year across 39 games (47 wRC+, -0.9 WAR) although he did hit a go-ahead homer against Atlanta a few weeks ago.
