he Atlanta Braves are set to welcome their ace back to the mound.
Spencer Strider is expected to make his long-awaited return to the Braves’ rotation Tuesday night when Atlanta opens a three-game set against the Washington Nationals. After missing several weeks with a hamstring injury, Strider will rejoin the big-league club without the benefit of a minor league rehab assignment.
Manager Brian Snitker hinted last week that Strider would be back during the series in D.C., and with A.J. Smith-Shawver and Chris Sale locked in to pitch Wednesday and Thursday, the stage is set for Strider to toe the rubber in Tuesday’s opener.
