Braves rookie Vaughn Grissom thankful Mets didn't draft him: 'That would have been terrible'

Vaughn Grissom has only been in the majors for roughly two weeks but he is already adding some fuel to the rivalry between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets.

The 21-year-old recalled his journey to The Show and how he thought he was definitely going to be drafted by the New York Mets three years ago.

“I thought I was going to be a Met, which would have been terrible,” Vaughn told Mark Bowman of MLB.com.

Instead, the Braves selected Grissom in the 11th round of the draft and his meteoric rise from High-A to the majors this season has helped put the Braves in position to catch the Mets in the NL East, where they trailed by 1.
