For only the second time this season, the Milwaukee Brewers lost a series. The Atlanta Braves routed the Crew 9-2 at Truist Park on Mother’s Day to win the rubber game of the weekend set. It was the first series loss for Milwaukee since their season opening set against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Aaron Ashby struggled with control from the start, giving up four runs in the second inning. He labored through four innings, allowing 6 runs on 6 hits with four walks, even uncorking a wild pitch that allowed a run to score. Atlanta then broke it open when William Contreras walloped a three run homer off reliever Jandel Gustave for a 9-0 lead in the 5th.
