Braves release Ender Inciarte

Following Thursday’s win over the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves announced that they have released outfielder Ender Inciarte who was designated for assignment on July 24. Thus ends Inciarte’s six-year run with the Braves.

The move wasn’t surprising. Inciarte has seen a drastic reduction in playing time this season and while the thought was that he might accept an assignment to Gwinnett, there wouldn’t have been a lot of opportunities for him there with Cristian Pache and Drew Waters already there. Instead, he will now enter the free agent market and will look to latch on with another team down the stretch.
