Braves reinstate Cristian Pache from injured list, option him to Gwinnett

The Atlanta Braves announced Wednesday that they had reinstated outfielder Cristian Pache form the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett. The moves is merely procedural and Pache will look to get back on track at the plate while working in a less stressful environment at Gwinnett.

Pache began the season as the Braves Opening Day centerfielder and while his defense was as advertised, he struggled at the plate hitting .111/.152/.206 with a 36.8% strikeout rate in 68 plate appearances.

Pache went 1-for-3 at Gwinnett Tuesday night. His rehab assignment was originally slated to begin over the weekend but he experienced some lingering soreness in his hamstring and groin so the team elected to give him a couple of more days of rest.
