Braves recall Touki Toussaint from Gwinnett

The Atlanta Braves announced on Friday that they have recalled right-hander Touki Toussaint from Triple-A Gwinnett. He will be in uniform for tonight’s series opener against the Marlins.

The Braves opened up a roster spot on Thursday when they optioned reliever Shane Carle to Triple-A. There is no word yet on whether Toussaint will fill in as a long reliever or make a spot start at some point.

This will be Toussaint’s second stint with the Braves this season. He has made two appearances so far this season with drastically different results. He stepped in early for Sean Newcomb back on April 13 and threw six solid innings while allowing one unearned run against the Mets.
