Entering the year as presumed playoff locks, the Braves now find themselves far from a Wild Card spot with just a month and a half remaining. With the team’s struggles and Brian Snitker in the final year of his contract, this could signal the end of an era in Atlanta.
“Because of that consistent recent success, Snit would normally be afforded a ‘mulligan’ year—even though going from the second-best preseason World Series odds to possibly the third-best odds of winning the draft lottery is a pretty serious mulligan,” Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller wrote.
