Every time I read or write about Atlanta Braves catching prospect Alex Jackson, it baffles me that he is still a mere 24 years of age. Now, Jackson will enter the 2020 season a member of the taxi squad, arguably the first catcher to get the call should there be a need at backstop.
Jackson was drafted sixth overall by the Seattle Mariners with raw power that left many a scout and prospector drooling. He fared well enough as an 18-year-old in his Rookie league debut that he entered the 2015 season as a top-30 prospect by both Baseball America and MLB.
