Spencer Strider has been on a meteoric rise through the minor leagues for the Atlanta Braves. After being selected in the fourth round of the 2020 MLB Draft as a bit of an unknown commodity coming off of Tommy John surgery, Strider started the 2021 season in low-A Augusta and he proceeded to blast his way through the minor leagues.
After brief stops in A-ball, Strider settled into developing at Double-A Mississippi and while there were some hiccups, he continued to put up big time strikeout numbers and recently he was called up to Triple-A Gwinnett once Mississippi’s season ended to pitch out of Gwinnett’s bullpen.
