The Braves have placed shortstop Dansby Swanson on the 10-day disabled list due to left wrist inflammation.
Just hours after being optioned to Gwinnett to make room for Jose Bautista’s arrival, Preston Tucker was recalled to Atlanta. He will be on the bench for tonight’s series opener against the Giants. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
Johan Camargo is starting at shortstop tonight for the Braves and batting seventh.
Wrist injuries can be nasty and can take a long time to heal if not allowed proper time to rest. Mark Bowman reported earlier today that Swanson’s wrist is structurally sound but the Braves are obviously playing it safe.
