The Atlanta Braves announced Saturday afternoon that they have optioned reliever Jacob Webb back to Gwinnett. Webb rejoined the bullpen on Thursday and threw a scoreless in the Braves’ series opening win over the Cardinals.
Even with that scoreless appearance, it has been a tough season for Webb who has allowed 24 hits and 10 earned runs in 17 innings.
The Braves did not announce a corresponding move and will be able to add a 27th man for the doubleheader. One of those incoming players will be Bryse Wilson who was announced as the starter for Game 1 of Sunday’s doubleheader.
