Kevin Gausman turned in his best outing of the spring as the Braves opened up CoolToday Park with a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Gausman struck out five over 3 1/3 innings while throwing 77 pitches. He will likely need one more start before being ready to join Atlanta’s rotation sometime in early April.
The Braves officially opened up their new facility in North Port on Sunday which by all accounts is one of the most impressive spring facilities in Florida.
“I heard about this being the best [Spring Training facility] in Florida, and it exceeded every expectation,” said Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos, who visited the stadium for the first time Sunday.
