It was an unfortunate evening for the Atlanta Braves, who dropped Thursday’s series opener to the Philadelphia Phillies 19-4. Though the Braves started out hopeful and scored three runs in the top of the first, Cal Quantrill came out and put together a pitiful outing. Quantrill’s final line consisted of 3.1 innings, nine runs, and four home runs. He did not record a single strikeout.
It was basically the Kyle Schwarber show, considering he homered four times, but hopefully the Braves can even things up tonight at 6:45 ET.

JR Ritchie put together a nice outing for Triple-A Gwinnett, recording 11 strikeouts.
