Ozzie Albies homered and Sean Newcomb did his best to match Noah Syndergaard pitch-by-pitch but the Atlanta Braves came up just short in a 5-3 loss in 12 innings to the New York Mets.
Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters during his pregame session that Matt Wisler would remain in the rotation for at least one more turn. Given that Anibal Sanchez is on the disabled list for at least 10 days, this isn’t terribly surprising. However, Wisler’s performance in his first start didn’t force the Braves to look for other options.
