Hours after the Atlanta Braves manager said that right-hander Mike Soroka will not pitch this season, Brian Snitker corrected himself Friday, saying that the former All-Star will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Soroka continues to recover from an Achilles injury and has not pitched in the majors since Aug. 3, 2020, when he sustained the injury during an outing against the New York Mets.
Snitker told MLB Network that Soroka "is down for the year, and hopefully we'll get him back next year."
But in his pre-game media call later Friday, Snitker said he "messed up" the prognosis and backtracked.
