The Atlanta Braves have long since left their 0-7 start in the past, entering May only two games under .500 and 14-9 over their last 23.
Whatever the Braves do going forward, whether it’s a return to their early-season mediocrity or an eighth straight playoff berth, it likely won’t feature veteran reliever Chasen Shreve.
Baseball America reported the Braves parted ways with Shreve, a 34-year-old journeyman lefty who spent the season’s first month at Triple-A Gwinnett. Shreve posted an ugly 5.60 ERA across 17.2 innings with the Stripers.
Interestingly, Shreve started four of his five games at Triple-A.
