Braves interested in Cubs outfielder Matt Szczur, per report

The Braves have seemingly firmed up most of their roster spots. While some shuffling could happen in the bullpen based on preference and the number of pitchers they plan on carrying to start the season, most the roster appears to have taken shape.

One part of the roster, however, remains unsettled is the Braves bench. While the Braves appear to have ample options to fill out the infield bench spots and with Kurt Suzuki and Tyler Flowers manning catching duties, the outfield is the most nebulous question remaining. With the injury to Dustin Peterson, options to back up in the outfield include less than inspiring options such as Emilio Bonifacio, it is not surprising that the Braves would be looking at external options.
