Few Atlanta Braves players have had the type of performance that Nacho Alvarez Jr. did on Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers. The 22 year-old infielder collected three hits including his first TWO career home runs, and the game-tying RBI single while the Braves were down to their last strike.
Thanks to Alvarez and a fellow rookie teammate, the Braves earned their seventh straight victory and completed a sweep of the AL Central leading Tigers. Nacho has been pressed into action this season because of Austin Riley's injury, but the results he has produced should be enough to show the Braves brass why he could be a valuable part of the roster next season.
