The Braves are bringing back Buddy Carlyle to manage their replay protocol during games
The Atlanta Braves announced on Friday that they have added Buddy Carlyle as a coaching assistant.
Per the release, Carlyle will be in uniform for all pregame work-outs and will assist in scouting preparations. His main job however will be to manage the Braves' instant replay protocol from an off-field location during all games.
The Braves recently vowed to look at their replay process after a call went unchallenged in a 1-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox. Freddie Freeman was called out on a close play at second although replay showed that he might have beaten the throw.
