The 2022 MLB Winter Meetings will get underway Sunday in San Diego and will mark the return of an in-person event for the first time since 2019. The 2020 meetings were held virtually, and the 2021 session was canceled as a result of the owner’s lockout.
The start of the meetings looks like a jumping off point for the offseason, which has crawled along at a snail’s pace since the end of the World Series. The biggest free agent to sign to date was Edwin Díaz, re-upping with the Mets on a deal worth $102 million.
