Braves First MLB Team to Guarantee Employees Pay Through May

The Atlanta Braves are setting the bar for the rest of Major League Baseball.

The team notified full-time and part-time employees on Friday that they will continue to be paid through May 31 while the regular season remains suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel.

Sources: the Atlanta Braves notified their full-time and part-time employees yesterday that they would be paid through May 31. They are the first known MLB club to give their employees assurances beyond the end of April or beginning of May.

The Braves are the first known MLB team to commit to paying their employees beyond the month of April, while four of the five teams in California have taken steps toward possible job cuts at the end of the month.
