Braves could trade for $21 million Reds veteran in wake of Reynaldo López injury

The Atlanta Braves' starting rotation has impressive high-end talent, but it's thinner than expected.

So far, Spencer Schwellenbach has carried the load for the Braves, while reigning Cy Young winner Chris Sale has struggled.

But the big news was Reynaldo López hitting the injured list with a shoulder injury, which will shut him down for the next 12 weeks. López, a 2024 All-Star, will be a major loss for the Braves to deal with after Charlie Morton and Max Fried left in the offseason.

Though Spencer Strider will soon be back from elbow surgery after striking out 13 batters in Triple-A in his most recent rehab start, the Braves could still use one more experienced starter to get them through the rest of the season.
