Charlie Morton will start Game 1 of the World Series for the Atlanta Braves, bringing him back to Minute Maid Park for another matchup against the organization that helped revive his career.
Morton has faced the Astros in three consecutive postseasons — two with Tampa Bay and now with the Braves. Morton made a major-league high 33 starts for Atlanta this season, striking out 216 batters with a 3.34 ERA in 185 u2154 innings.
Morton pitched in Houston from 2017-18. He won Game 7 of the 2017 World Series and earned an All-Star appearance in 2018. The Astros let him walk in free agency following the 2018 season.
