Braves bullpen lets them down again in 7-5 loss to Rays

It has become a familiar trope, but the Atlanta Braves bullpen let another lead slip away in a 7-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday afternoon.

Atlanta took an early lead in the first inning. Joc Pederson began the inning with a lead off walk but was erased on a ground ball out by Freddie Freeman. Ozzie Albies followed with a sharp double off the wall in center off of Rich Hill that scored Freeman from first to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.

Drew Smyly allowed just one base runner through the first four innings and Atlanta tacked on two more runs in the bottom half.
