Braves’ bullpen implodes again in 8-1 loss to Cardinals

The woes continue for the Atlanta Braves who suffered another bullpen implosion in an 8-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Braves have now lost four straight and there lead in the NL East division is down to 5.5 over the Phillies.

Atlanta staked Anibal Sanchez to an early lead when Ronald Acuña Jr. drove a Austin Gomber fastball over the fence in right center. It was Acuña’s 26th home run in his 100th game of the season.

The lead would be short lived. Jose Martinez singled with one out off of Sanchez in the fourth and then came home to score on a two-run home run by Paul Dejong.
