The Atlanta Braves standing pat at the trade deadline was objectively not a good result for the Braves going forward. Sure, there is some logic to maintaining a relatively competitive team throughout the season is good for fan and player morale, but the reality is that Atlanta has multiple pending free agents on a non-playoff team that are about to walk away with nothing to show for it. In particular, the Braves' inability to trade Marcell Ozuna was particularly rough.
In fairness to the Braves, Ozuna's trade market did seemingly crater due to lingering concerns over his off-the-field issues and the fact that he was playing like garbage at the time.
