Braves acquire veteran starting pitcher from Yankees

The Atlanta Braves have acquired veteran starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco from the New York Yankees for a player to be named later or cash. The YES Network's Jack Curry was first to report the news.

Carrasco appeared in eight games for the Yankees this season, starting six, but he had not pitched in the big leagues since May. The Yankees designated him for assignment and he later accepted an outright to Triple-A Scranton.

In 11 appearances with the RailRiders, Carrasco had a 3.27 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 52.
