Braves acquire RHP Dane Dunning from Rangers

The Braves have made a minor trade for some more help at the multiple inning relief pitcher spot this evening.

The Braves have acquired righty Dane Dunning from the Rangers for RHP Jose Ruiz and cash considerations. To make room on the 40-man roster, Jesse Chavez has been designated for assignment. It appears to be a move to gain more length in the bullpen. Dunning is also another pitcher with options, per Fangraphs.

Dane has a career 4.34/4.40/4.20 line over a sizeable 583.1 innings over 6 seasons. He has made 102 starts in his career and has posted 1.
