Freddie Freeman blasted a two-run walkoff homer against Jeffrey Springs to lead the Atlanta Braves 8-7 in 11 innings over the Red Sox on Friday.
The two teams combined for 12 runs from the eighth inning on.
The Red Sox had taken a 7-6 lead in the top half of the 11th inning on Alex Verdugo’s RBI sacrifice fly to center field.
Eventful 10th inning
Kevin Plawecki and Bobby Dalbec both stroked two-out RBI singles in the 10th inning to put the Red Sox ahead 6-4 in the 10th inning.
But the Braves tied it in the bottom of the 10th.
