Austin Riley continued to dominate the San Francisco Giants in their own stadium. This time, he was the one who delivered the decisive blow in extra innings to push the Braves past the Giants, 5-4.
After the Braves and Giants both exchanged three-up, three-down frames in the first inning, the second inning is when things got going. The Braves had two baserunners and didn’t make much of them, but the Giants managed to cash in a couple of their baserunners in the bottom half of the frame. A single plus a double and a wild pitch equated to a run for San Francisco, and it looked like things could have gotten out of hand after Kevin Gausman hit Mac Williamson.
