Atlanta’s Ian Anderson pulled after 5th inning with no-hitter in World Series Game 3

It wasn’t very brave of them.

Atlanta Braves starter Ian Anderson was pulled after five innings of World Series Game 3 on Friday night despite giving up no hits.

Anderson had walked three batters, hit one and thrown 76 pitches, 39 of them for strikes. He struck out four. If he had come back out for the sixth, he would’ve been facing the top of Houston’s lineup for the third time.

Reliever A.J. Minter entered in the sixth and preserved Atlanta’s 1-0 lead, though he did hit Astros third baseman Alex Bregman to put a runner on with two outs.
