The Atlanta Braves announced in an email to season ticket-holders on Sunday that the club will retain their nickname but are "working through" evaluating the tomahawk chop.
Paul Lukas, who runs the Uni Watch blog, posted a snippet of what he claimed was an email from the club to season ticket-holders, with a link to the full email.
"The Atlanta Braves honors, respects and values the Native American community," the email read. "As an organization, we have always drawn strength from our diversity and respect for everyone. That will never change."
Later, the email stated, "Through our conversations, changing the name of the Braves is not under consideration or deemed necessary.
