Francisco Cervelli and Adam Duvall both homered while Max Fried returned to form on the mound to help the Atlanta Braves to an 8-1 win over the San Francisco Giants. Atlanta improves to 96-60 on the season and notches win No. 50 at SunTrust Park this season.
While the Braves may have just been happy to reach the postseason in 2018 there is certainly a different message being relayed this go around. Manager Brian Snitker upped the ante telling The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Tim Tucker that winning the division isn’t good enough.
“Our first goal was to win the East, and we did, but that’s not good enough,” manager Brian Snitker said Saturday at SunTrust Park before the team’s game against the Giants.
