Further details emerged throughout the day, and it was reported that the league would be looking into the signings of both Venezuelan infielder Kevin Maitan and 2017 second-round pick Drew Waters. In addition to the resignation of Coppolella, special assistant Gordon Blakeley has also left the organization in connection with the investigations. John Hart will serve as GM in the interim as the Braves work through their current situation.
