A first inning run was all Gwinnett needed to even the series as the pitching staff combined on a one hit shutout of the Bisons. Ronald Acuna sparked that run in the first by knocking a single to lead off the game and then advanced to third on a double from Sean Kazmar. An RBI groundout by Rio Ruiz scored Acuna and gave Ruiz his team-leading 50th RBI on the season. Acuna had another hit on the game and extended his hitting streak to seven, has hit in 17 of his last 18 games, and his torrid run at the plate has left him three off of the minor league lead in hits this season.
