As predicted last night, David O’Brien and others report that the Atlanta Braves began their September roster moves by activating A.J. Pierzynski and Chris Withrow and calling up LHP Jed Bradley.
Return of the Wounded
Pierzynski’s return was expected as his hamstring injury coincidentally appeared on the same day Tyler Flowers was eligible to return from the DL. AJ stayed loose by playing in three games for the GCL Braves going 4-11 with two walks and two strikeouts.
The Braves put RHRP Withrow on the 15-day DL with an inflamed elbow on August 15th.
