Atlanta Braves designate Danny Santana: Recall Michael Reed

The Atlanta Braves claimed Danny Santana off waivers from the Twins last year. He had several good at-bats in his first few games then returned to being the AAAA player he’s been since 2014.

Santana finished the 2017 season with an abysmal .203/.245/.357/.602 line, a .254 wOBA and 52 wRC+. Most were surprised when the Braves signed him to another minor league deal two weeks after releasing him last December.

Santana started 2018 with Gwinnett and posted a .279/.300/.539/.839 line with a .353 wOBA and 128 wRC+ in 219 PA. The Braves purchased his contract on June 21 and he made his first appearance on June 22, going 2-3 with a double against the Orioles.
