Major League Baseball’s transaction wire heated up on Wednesday night and included a former Alabama standout changing organizations.
With the 2025 MLB trade deadline looming at 5 p.m. CDT Thursday, the deals between contending buyers and disappointed sellers gained momentum.
Among the trades from Wednesday night, former Alabama infielder Jim Jarvis went from the Detroit Tigers to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitcher Rafael Montero.
Jarvis played shortstop at Alabama from 2020 through 2023, when the Tigers made him an 11th-round draft pick. As a senior, Jarvis received the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove Award as the nation’s best fielding shortstop.
