ATLANTA -- Ronald Acuna Jr. earned another spot in the record book when he drilled his Braves franchise record eighth leadoff home run during Wednesday afternoon's game against the Red Sox at SunTrust Park.
Acuna jumped on Hector Velazquez's center cut fastball and watched it sail over the left-center-field wall for his 24th homer of the season and the eighth leadoff homer he has hit since moving to the top of the Braves' lineup after the All-Star break.
Marquis Grissom had previously set the Braves' franchise record when he hit seven leadoff homers over 157 games in 1996.
