The Braves and the Dodgers made a fascinating trade before the season that essentially served both teams’ financial interests that sent Matt Kemp to the Dodgers and the Braves got multiple less than favorable 2018 contracts back in return. One of those contracts was that of Brandon McCarthy who ended up pitching quite a bit in the Braves’ rotation before his season, and likely his career, ended with an injury.
Brandon McCarthy has been in the league since 2005 and has had varying degrees of success. When healthy, he has been able to produce on the mound as a back of the rotation type with some upside for more than that.
