Dean Smith will hold a transfer summit on Friday with Aston Villa chiefs Christian Purslow and Jesus Garcia Pitarch after goalkeeper Tom Heaton and striker Wesley were ruled out for the season.
As reported by Sportsmail on Wednesday, Villa will accelerate their search for new players and are likely to settle on targets in the coming hours, when Villa boss Smith speaks to chief executive Purslow and Garcia - known as Suso - in the evening.
Both Heaton and Wesley have serious knee injuries, the club confirmed on Friday. 'We had business planned anyway and that will still continue,' said Smith.
