Steve Cooper insists Evangelos Marinakis' public warning will have NO effect on his bid to keep Nottingham Forest in the Premier League - after the City Ground chief urged that 'results must improve IMMEDIATELY'

Steve Cooper insists the stay of execution granted by Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis will have no effect on his bid to keep the club in the Premier League.

The Forest boss remains under severe pressure ahead of Saturday's match at Aston Villa and though Marinakis quashed suggestions he would be sacked before then, he gave Cooper little reason to feel comfortable.

'I am in constant dialogue with the owner and nothing in the statement was a surprise to me,' said Cooper, after Marinakis had warned that 'results and performances must improve immediately.
