Steve Bruce is interested in the vacant manager's job at Aston Villa, sources close to the former Hull City boss have told ESPN FC.
Villa are beginning their search for a new manager after sacking Roberto Di Matteo on Monday following their disastrous start to the season in the Championship.
Di Matteo was axed after just 124 days in the job, having won just one of his 11 Championship games in charge of the club.
Villa, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are now looking for their fifth boss inside a year and a number of names have been linked with the position at Villa Park.
