Melbourne City have made an approach to sign Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack on loan until January.
The Australian side want the Scotland international after their Uruguayan forward Bruno Fornaroli fractured his ankle.
McCormack, a £12million signing from Fulham last year, saw a deadline day move to Sunderland fall through at the last minute and was a target for Fenerbahce before they signed Vincent Janssen from Tottenham.
He has been out of the first team picture under Steve Bruce, making just two appearances as a substitute in the EFL Cup so far this season, and is keen to kickstart his career.
