Ross McCormack has taken the chance to tell his side of the "electronic gate" story which hastened his deadline-day loan departure from parent club Aston Villa to Nottingham Forest.
Villa boss Steve Bruce disciplined McCormack after he failed to turn up for training on more than one occasion.
One headline-making excuse was 30-year-old McCormack being unable to exit his house via a faulty electronic gate.
"It sounds far fetched but the gate was stuck," McCormack told BBC Sport.
"I had to wait for the company. The fence was taller than me and I'm not 4ft 6in.
